Acrobatics, or Acro Dance, is more than just gymnastics for dancers. Much like gymnastics, acrobatics has the splits, handsprings and awesome tricks you find in gymnastics, but acrobatics allows dancers to incorporate those tricks into their dance routines. An aerial (no-hand cartwheel) accentuates beautiful ballet pirouettes, or a backhand spring adds a punch to an energy-packed jazz dance. Acrobatics starts with building strength, flexibility and body awareness. We take the time to warm up properly, stretch and learn proper body placement to perform tricks. A safe and fun class is always the priority in each acrobatics class.
